| Who should take TKT? |
| TKT can be taken at any stage in teacher’s career. |
| |
It its suitable for teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners all over the world. It is also ideal for people who would like to teach English but not yet started teaching. |

To take TKT, teaches need a level of English at least equivalent to the Preliminary English Test or level B1 of the council of Europe’s Common European Framework of reference for languages. Candidates need not have any English language examinations, or to have fulfilled any other specific entry requirements although they are expected to be familiar with basic concepts and language relating to English teaching. |

| Modules of TKT |
TKT has five modules. These modules can all be taken together at the same time, or separately, in any order, over a period of time. For each module there is a test of 80 minutes. Candidates must select the correct answer and mark this on a computerized answer sheet. |
